The best of the web from the perspective of a Catholic mom, former atheist, and closet computer nerd.
It's very touching, but unfortunately, from a Catholic perspective, they got the whole thing wrong. It's not about being happy above all else. We're on this earth not to do whatever makes us happy, but to serve others.
Very sweet! I got tears too!
Actually, nothing can make us happy unless fulfilling what God has designed us to do. The commandments are not arbitrary rules: they are fulfilling who we are supposed to be ever since we were born. Happy does not mean smiling cheery, however. Happy does not even mean receiving consolations (no matter how much we would like to receive them). It's hard to explain, or maybe I am unable to explain better, sorry.
